We 'ad a brilliant time fishin' with Garett this summer. 'E was patient, funny, and a top-notch teacher. 'E took us to the finest spots to ensure we caught some salmon. We 'ad plenty to take 'ome. They were dead easy to book as well. Cheers for a fantastic time!
Having had a day of deep-sea fishing canceled by another skipper, Mark managed to fit in my old man, me brother, and meself for a last-minute trip on the Kenai. We 'ad a cracking time and pulled in more fish than we ever dreamed of. Mark's a proper professional, good laugh, and knows 'is stuff about the river and local area. Top bloke, would recommend 'im highly!
Outstanding Adventure! Fishology is the real deal when it comes to fishing charters in the Kenai region. The crew is top-notch - professional, friendly, and always ready to lend a hand. We've had the pleasure of going out with them twice already and can't wait for our third trip!
Just back from a fantastic fishing expedition on the Kenai Peninsula, mate! I spent a good 10 months scheming and plotting this adventure, scouring the land high and low for the right captain. After much deliberation, I placed my trust in Mark Wackler (The Chief of Fishology) and let me tell you, it was a smashing choice! Not only is he a top-notch fishing guru, but he also goes above and beyond to ensure you have a whale of a time throughout your journey.
From the get-go of crafting this escapade, Mark was on the ball with swift responses, doling out cracking advice on must-see spots, things to do, and provided expert local knowledge at every twist and turn. The bloke truly went the extra mile during the planning stage and continued to impress during the trip itself. Even when the fish seemed to be playing hard to get in the waters of Kasilof and Kenai for a few days, Mark doubled down and worked his socks off to track them down – and track them down we did!
Mark is a legendary guide who knows his onions and takes care of you every step of the journey – like giving us a bell as we made our way into town just to check if we needed directions to the lodge or anything else. I'm already scheming my return for next summer, and you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be booking through Mark and Fishology again. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better guide up there, mate!
I 'ad the chance to go fishin' wif Mark and Fishology once, and I tell ya, it won't be the last time, mate! Mark is a top bloke, very knowledgeable, professional, and he really cares about 'is clients. I've guided meself up in the Northern Rockies for fly fishin', huntin' mule deer and elk, and let me tell ya, it's a lo' of work that often goes unnoticed. Mark really puts in the extra effort to make sure our day on the Kenai was a success. Hats off to 'im!
We managed to catch our limit of sockeye salmon with the help of our guide, Cory. He was a top-notch guide and made our fishing trip in Alaska truly unforgettable. The journey was definitely worth the travel!
These blokes will hook you up with some proper fish - definitely worth a go, mate.
I was on the hunt for a lovely fishing adventure to celebrate my 30th anniversary with the missus. Orca Lodge turned out to be just the ticket, and the fishing was absolutely top-notch.
My spouse and I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Mark during the summer of 2013. Mark and his crew expertly catered to our church group, which consisted of both youths and adults, many of whom had never experienced the thrill of fishing before. On our return journey to Anchorage before heading home, my partner was already busy on her iPad outlining our itinerary for the following summer in 2014. Since then, we have revisited Alaska, specifically the stunning Kenai Peninsula, a total of seven times out of the subsequent eight summers, either with our relatives, extended family, or just the two of us. When it comes to planning a trip, Mark and his team are our first point of contact. I never schedule time off work or secure flights and accommodations until I am certain about the availability of dates with Mark and his exceptional crew. Their services are simply superb!
Outstanding bang for your buck, spotless and tidy cabins, and absolutely fantastic fishing. I've relied solely on Fishology for organizing my yearly Alaskan fishing adventure. I typically stay for a week and have done so for the last 4-5 years. Our main catches are halibut, sockeye, and king salmon. I highly suggest trying out fly-out salmon fishing, it's truly memorable. Booking fishing trips is a breeze, top-notch customer service, and cabins situated right along the Kenai River in Soldatna - what more could one ask for!
We had an absolutely brilliant day out on the water fishing with Wyatt, one of the fantastic fishing guides from Mark's crew. We kicked off our day bright and early at 4 am, launching onto the river, and ended up reeling in some impressive king salmons, making for an adventure that will stay with me forever. Huge thanks to the team for such an incredible experience!
I gave a ring at the eleventh hour to sort out a guided sockeye adventure and Trina over at Fishology really came through for me - pun intended! My lad marked his 15th birthday picking up a new skill with an exceptional and skilled guide by the name of Chase! Chase had us reeling in fish within 15 minutes of setting off, and we had an absolutely incredible time.
Hats off to Chase, Trina, and the whole team at Fishology!
I 'ave been fishin' at Fishology more than 10 times o'er the years. They 'ave the top guides for fishin' and for guest comfort and service. The location next to the most beautiful part of the Kenai is spectacular and their cabins are comfy and modern. The campfires are amazin'. I do not reckon there's a better place in Alaska, they arrange flyouts and trips for the best fishing experience. Don't even think about goin' anywhere else!
We reached out to Mark last minute for a halibut fishing trip in the Homer area. He organized everything in under a day. Being a newbie to fishing, I reeled in a 50-pound fish as the first catch of the day! It was an incredible experience and definitely worth more than what we paid. I do regret not having more cash on hand for tips. Captain Chad aboard the Artic Envy was fantastic. His expertise and patience led us to snagging a couple of hefty 40 and 50 pound halibuts. Mitchell skillfully filleted our 100 pounds of fish even before we docked. It was a stress-free day, with the crew taking care of everything from teaching us how to fish, baiting the hooks, enlightening us on the currents, and ensuring our haul made it to the processor. An absolutely TOP NOTCH experience!
I had originally planned a trip for silvers on the Kasilof River, but Trina from Fishology contacted me on Tuesday to inform me that the fishing conditions were quite slow. She suggested we switch to fishing for trout and silvers on the Kenai instead. I was more than happy to go along with the change, and the following Wednesday at 0530, we met our guide Chase at the boat launch. Despite getting caught in the rain, we had an incredible day of fishing. My teenage son and I landed numerous big rainbows, Dolly Varden, pink salmon, and three silvers. Chase knew all the prime spots on the river and the best tactics to use. We had fished the upper Kenai near Coopers Landing with a different guide on Monday, and although the scenery was stunning and there were fewer anglers around, we didn't catch as many fish, especially the larger ones. It was hands down the most fantastic day of fishing I've ever experienced! Scott Mikolajczyk, Moscow, Idaho
When I was organizing my inaugural journey to Alaska, I was certain it wouldn't be fulfilling without an excursion for salmon fishing. Following extensive investigation, I opted for Fishology, and they truly exceeded all expectations. Ryan proved to be a remarkable guide. With his deep understanding of the Kenai River and numerous years of practice, I succeeded in reeling in my quota of silver salmon. It was an unparalleled experience. I am eager to arrange another outing with Fishology on my next visit to Alaska.
