Jeffrey Nguyen (5/26/25, 9:58 AM):
This church has a special place in my heart as it was the first one I attended when I moved to DE at the end of 2011. I was a resident of that neighborhood at the time, and I still am. The church is not only a place of worship but also the proud home of Hope Dining Room, where I dedicate my time once a week. This wonderful initiative provides a warm meal to those in need in the local community, including the hungry and homeless, on weekdays from 12 to 1. The meals are lovingly prepared by different local churches and civic groups.

In addition to the dining room, there is a food pantry and clothing closet available for those who require assistance. The church also opens its doors to groups of boy scouts and girl scouts, fostering a sense of community and service among the youth. While they used to hold both contemporary and traditional services, I understand that now they have streamlined to one Sunday service. Furthermore, the church plays a vital role in supporting at least one 12-step group, such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).

I am grateful to be part of this church community that not only nurtures the spirit but also extends a helping hand to those in need.

I must say, the Hope Dining Room is an absolute gem within the United Methodist Church community. The ambiance is simply delightful and the food is truly a feast for the senses. It's not just a dining experience, it's a soul-nourishing journey that warms the heart and brings people together in fellowship. If you ever find yourself in need of a culinary sanctuary, look no further than the Hope Dining Room. Cheers to good food and even better company!

I recently visited Hope Dining, where they kindly provide a complimentary meal every weekday to anyone in need. Let us pray for those facing challenges and hardships, that they may feel the embrace of Jesus' love and find comfort in their hearts.
